"When a man's stories are remembered, then he is immortal."

Larry Robert Buchert, immortal storyteller, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 at the age of 68. Larry, also known as Dad and Oompa, was born in 1948. He graduated from Parkland High School in 1967, his antics there fodder for legends still shared. Larry then served his country with the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam, and continued to serve in the Reserves as a Technical Sergeant. His friends and family will always remember his spectacular storytelling and perpetual generosity. Larry impacted and improved the lives of all those around him in as Cubmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, and as a Big Brother in the Beyond School Walls program. He was a lifelong builder of models, a craftsman, and an avid Historian. Those closest to him share memories of "pappy straps," Gettysburg, birthdays at Buca di Beppo, and his goofy grin every time he was up to no good.

Survivors: Larry is survived by his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 46 years, Diane, his mother Peggy, his sister Carol, his brother Michael, his children Ryan and Roxanne, and grandchildren Zoe and Zachary.

Services: A Celebration of Life and Reception will be held at Trexlertown Grange at 1183 Grange Rd, Wescosville, Pennsylvania, PA 18062 on Sunday, July 9th. Celebration of Life at 1pm with a "Come & Go" Reception from 2-4pm.
