Barry F. Szajkovics

Barry F. Szajkovics, 51, of Wescosville, passed away October 25, 2017 in his home. He was the husband of Teresa A. Szajkovics of Allentown. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Margaret J. (Hafner) Szajkovics and the grandson of the late Johanna Hafner. He was also the son of his adoptive parents Marian G. (Molinaro) Howell and the late Leo K. Howell, Sr. Barry was a mortgage broker and owner of the former Creative Mortgage Solutions of Allentown. He worked in mortgages and finances most of his life and was everyone’s “go to” person when they needed financial advice. He was always happy and readily available to help everyone. Barry was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Allentown where he previously sang on the choir and taught Catechism. He was a past member of the Lions Club of Allentown and a current member of both Jordan-Martin Lodge No. 673 and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in the Valley of Allentown and the Joseph Sertoma Club of Allentown. In Barry’s early years he was involved in various local dinner theaters including Shepherd Hills, Peddler’s Village and Genetti‘s.. He loved music and performing and taught voice and piano lessons for many years. Survivors: Along with his wife Teresa, and adoptive mother Marian, Barry will be forever missed by his three children; Jessica L., Joshua C. and Jacob C., all of Allentown and his three grandchildren, Lamere, Cierra and Jayden. He is also survived by a cousin Marlene Takacs of Bethlehem and an adoptive brother Mark K. Howell of Columbia MD. Services: Wednesday, November 1, 2017 with visitation beginning at 6:00 PM followed by a memorial service at 7 PM at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, PA, 18102. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family in c/o the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
