Ronald H. Carl, Sr., 80, of Allentown passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
Ron was proud to have served our country in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS Witek, one of the first navy destroyers to arrive in Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and storyteller, who loved to meet new people and to tell stories filled with love, laughter, happiness and sometimes a hint of exaggeration.
Ron is survived by his wife, Helga (Baumann) Carl with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage, his son Ronald H. Carl, Jr. and his wife Doreen and his daughter Tracy C. Holland and her husband Robert Ashley, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth James Carl.
