Glenn Gregory Hokkanen, 72, of Fogelsville, formerly of Holtwood, passed away February 9th. He was the husband of Melissa (Hess) Hokkanen, daughter of the late Robah G. Hess and Verna Kay (Kline) of New Providence, PA. Glenn and Melissa were married for 29 years last September. Born in Phoenixville, he was a son of the late Glenn Gearhart Hokkanen and Dorothy (Petsock). Glenn was an engineer at the PP&L Company at Brunner Island, Holtwood, and Martins Creek power plants.
His interests included computers, competitive pistol shooting, hunting, and fishing. He was an active member of Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Assoc. He was known to be able to repair anything. Glenn was an Army brat, growing up in France, Germany, New Mexico, Colorado Oregon and Pennsylvania. This gave him the love of traveling and using back roads. Glenn is a graduate of Drexel University where he majored in mechanical engineering and was a member of PI Lambda Phi fraternity.
Glenn is survived by his wife Melissa; brothers Michael A. Hokkanen of Hanover Pa. and H. George Hokkanen and wife Kathy of Dover, Pa; many nieces, nephews; extended family and his loving dog, Sabie. He was predeceased by a brother Theodore G. Hokkanen of Louisiana.
A Memorial service will be held March 1st at Oak Hill Fellowship, 1 West Fourth Street, Quarryville, PA 17566, starting at 2:00 PM, with visitation following in the church fellowship hall.
