Kathleen O’Mara, 87, of Allentown passed away March 16th at Cedarbrook Nursing Home. Born in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Bergman) Black. Years ago she worked for the Allentown Hospital as a phone operator, then later with her husband John C. “Jack” O’Mara at their business, O’Mara's Coffee and Frozen Beverage Service in Whitehall. They were also co-owners of LO’M Stables, where they owned and raced horses. She was a member of Annunciation BVM Catholic Church in Catasauqua and their Rosary Society. She enjoyed visiting the Carmelite Monastery nuns. Kathleen loved her family, especially being with her grandchildren and watching her nieces and nephews sporting events.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Apgar and husband Keith of Allentown; a son John F. O’Mara of South Whitehall; sister Mary May of Catasauqua; her grandchildren Briana, Nicole, Jordan, Shane, Dalton, Katarina and Van; three great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predecessed by a brother Frank Black and a sister Linda Black Irwin.

Services: Mass will be held Tuesday, March 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua Pa. with interment following at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Catasauqua.  Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
