04/17/2025
Mitri “Mitch” Moses, 84, of South Whitehall Twp., passed away peacefully on April 17th. Born in Allentown, Mitch was the son of David and Frances (Joseph) Moses.
Mitch attended Allentown High School, Muhlenberg College, and Campbell College. In his younger years, Mitch worked with his family’s businesses including Central Park Amusement Park, Dave's West End Market, and the former Boulevard Motors. Mitch continued his career in the automobile industry as Used Car Manager at Knopf Pontiac Mercedes-Benz, then served as General Manager at Wrona Pontiac-Cadillac, and later as General Manager and part-time salesperson at Kutztown Auto Company.
Mitch’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren—fishing and cheering them on at sporting events. He had a passion for collecting cars, which began while working at his father’s lot, Boulevard Motors. He loved scouting out restaurants and critiquing cuisine. Mitch enjoyed the sport of harness racing and owned several horses, which his brother Robert trained and drove. He was an avid Lehigh Wrestling fan and a longtime season ticket holder, claiming the best seats in the house. Mitch was an accomplished trapshooter and was a member of both the Rural Sportsmen’s Association and the Coplay Trap Team, and loved shooting with the squad of Bob, Jack, Joe, and Curt. From 2011 through 2017, Mitch won nine significant Senior Veteran Championship Trophies at the Pennsylvania State Shoot in Elysburg, including the following notable honors: Resident Senior Veteran Runner Up (2012), Resident Senior Veteran State Handicap Champion (2013), and Singles Class Championship Senior Veteran Champion (2017).
Mitch was most proud of his family and is survived by his children: John (Kathy) Moses of Friedens, PA; Leila (Mitch) Scott of Chesterfield, VA; and Mario Moses of Allentown, PA; his grandchildren: Gabriel (Adriana), Julian (Leonora), Alexa (Trey), Nicholas, Alexander, Isabella, and Maximilian; his great-grandchildren: Malcolm, Lainey, Rion, and Sebastian; his sister-in-law, Fay Moses; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his loyal companion and beloved dog, Zoie. He was predeceased by his siblings: Robert, Georgeann, and David.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 25th, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 Hamilton Street, Allentown, PA, with a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
