Lila Jarrouj
06/30/2025
Lila Alexander Jarrouj passed peacefully surrounded by family on June 30th at her home.
Born on April 8, 1944 in Port of Spain, Trinidad West Indies to Elias Alexander and Fadwa Azar Alexander, she was Wife to the late Ayoub Jarrouj, mother of two and sister to eight siblings. Lila immigrated to the United States where she fell for the love of her life, Ayoub. Ever by his side in his adventurous journeys through thick and thin, Lila traveled the world, often hosted by world leaders in a story that would rival Oscar winning screenplays.
She worked tirelessly for those in need, often at her own expense. Lila and Ayoub began what is now the food bank at the Syrian Charity Association with only an old minivan, their own finances, and the support of local businesses and family.
Lila leaves behind her ever faithful daughter Lisa Vercusky, loving son Michael (Kim) Jarrouj, grandchildren Kadin, Tarek, Azim and Zara Jarrouj, and many nieces, nephews, and loving siblings.
