Matthew Moyer, 70, of Whitehall, Pennsylvania, formerly of Shillington, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 9, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born to the late Clarence and Yvonne Moyer on December 25, 1954 in Vallejo, California. Matt lived a life defined by hard work, creativity, a unique sense of humor, and a love for the simple joys in life.
Matt, a 1972 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School, spent much of his career in auto body repair, where his attention to detail and dedication to his craft earned him the respect of both colleagues and customers. Outside of work, he found joy in restoring classic cars, antiques, and furniture, tending to his garden and plants, caring for his cat Kokomo, and making his famous chili. He also had a deep love of music- often playing his favorite records for family and friends on his jukebox. Matt was known for his one of a kind humor that kept everyone smiling, often catching family and friends off guard with his quick wit and unexpected remarks.
Matt was loved dearly by his family. He is survived by his devoted partner Denise Kametler, his daughters, Angie (Nate) Ross and Melissa (Brian) Kirchner; mother of his children, Kathy Moyer; his four grandchildren, Maddie, Andrew, Cole and Allie; and his sister, Lori (Paul) Hemmig. He is also survived by Denise’s daughter Cindy Hilton; and her children Makenzie and Kallie. He is predeceased by his brother, Charles Moyer.
In honor of Matt, the family invites friends and family to celebrate his life by planting a tree that will bloom in years to come (link below).
