Joann Wexler
10/29/2025

Joann Grice Wexler, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Whitehall on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. She was 67 years old. Born on February 17, 1958, Joann was a woman known for her tireless work ethic, her warmth, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her career was marked by versatility, dedication, and a commitment to serving her community through various roles. She worked as a seamstress at Phoenix, served as a baker and delivery person at MaryAnn Donut Kitchen, and worked as a clerk at Rite Aid Pharmacy and at the T & B warehouse before retiring from St. Luke’s Allentown in the Environmental Services Department.

Joann was a lifelong resident of the area and a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Whitehall. Much of her life was spent alongside her beloved husband, Alexander “Al” Wexler Jr., whom she helped at various non-sports card shows. Her greatest joy, however, came from being a mother and grandmother. She was completely devoted to her family, finding special delight in time spent with her grandchildren and enjoying shared meals out with family and friends.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, Horace Eugene Grice and Shirley Moll Grice, her husband of many years, Alexander "Al" Wexler Jr., and her daughter, Laura Ann Grice Erie.

She is survived by her loving family: her son, Alexander Wexler III of Whitehall; her stepdaughters, Joellen Wexler of Plainville, CT, and Jennifer White of Palmerton. She will be deeply missed by her siblings: Charles Dorsey of Krumsville; Donna Lee Weinhofer, wife of Wayne, of Plainville, CT; Cindy Lu Fatzinger, wife of Harold "Sonny," of Walnutport; and her stepbrothers, Lewis and Paul Grice of Florida. She will also be dearly missed by her four cherished grandchildren, Denise Murden, Isaiah Bandle, Kaila Wexler, and Nolan Wexler, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services: Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton St., Allentown with the funeral service beginning immediately thereafter at 4:00 PM.
