Elizabeth Ann Thielmann
01/03/2026
Elizabeth Ann (Betty) Thielmann, age 80, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026.
Betty is survived by her son Mark and her daughter-in-law Betsy (Law), of Pennington, New Jersey where they reside with her three grandchildren, Phoebe, Jack and Andrew. Betty also leaves behind her beloved dog, Astro.
Born on October 26, 1945, in Newark, New Jersey, Betty was the daughter of the late Edward Kingsley and Rita Mary (Meslar) Skivington. Betty loved her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She also cherished her extended family, friendships from childhood, her neighbors, and her Brookside friends.
Betty graduated from Benedictine Academy and went on to become a successful Executive Assistant for Esso and later, the Board of Trustees at Cornell University. After Cornell, Betty settled in Valley Forge with Leo, where she became a full-time mother and they eventually settled in Allentown. Betty spent much of her time taking care of her husband, son, her many dogs, and her home. Later, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Brookside including Bunko nights and Bowling. Betty also enjoyed her holidays. She loved Thanksgiving, the Fourth of July, and Christmas. A little-known fun fact about Betty, is that she played a great version of White Christmas on the piano and even wrote a Christmas poem in her Esso days.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Betty may be made to the St. Paul School of Princeton Annual Fund, where her grandchildren attended or Lehigh Valley Hospice at Lehigh Valley Health Network Office of Philanthropy.
