Gary McLeod

Gary Douglas McLeod, 80, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on January 10th, 2026.

Gary was born in Shirley, Massachusetts on May 18, 1945 to Roderick and Emmy Lou (Morrison) McLeod. He grew up in Gorham and graduated from Gorham High School in 1963. He attended The University of New Hampshire and received his masters at Pepperdine College. 

Gary proudly served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1979. During his military career, he served honorably in the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his country. His years of service reflected a deep sense of duty and sacrifice, values he carried with him throughout his life. He was honorably discharged and remained proud of his service as a Vietnam veteran.

Gary worked from 1980 to his retirement in 2008 from Merck Pharmaceuticals. 

Gary is survived by his  son Aaron McLeod (Tampa, Florida), daughter Megan McPeek (Easton, Pa),  son in-law, Kevin McPeek and his three beautiful granddaughters, Avery (21), Addie (19) and Keira (16) (Easton, Pa). 

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Lorna McLeod and brother Greg McLeod. 

Gary’s legacy of service, strength, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
