Chris Elias
02/21/2026
Chris Elias, 98, of Allentown passed away February 21st. He was born in a small village in northern Greece, a son of the Rev. Nicholas M. Elias and Catherine Elias. He was the husband of Theophele (Jones) Elias since 1960.
Mr. Elias was a printer by trade, the operator of Lehigh Letter Service (now LLS Graphics) with his wife & son for over 20 years. He was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where he was well known over the years as a Sunday School teacher and tour guide during their festivals. He served several years on the parish council and the church choir.
He also enjoyed his years volunteering at Cedarbrook Nursing Home; growing many vegetables and fruit trees in his garden and caring for the birds and animals therein, and was a kind soul with a caring heart for the vulnerable and less fortunate. Chris had a special place in his heart for the new young converts to the Orthodox faith, even becoming a godfather to one just over a year ago. He was also a prolific oil painter, painting dozens of pieces of art depicting ocean and mountain scenes.
He will be missed by his small loving family…wife Theo; son Nicos C. Elias and wife Genny; cousins, nieces, nephews and the extended family. He was predeceased by a brother Michael, a sister, Loukia and an infant brother Theodore.
Services will be held on Thursday, February 26th at 12:30 p.m. in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1607 W. Union Boulevard, Bethlehem. Calling hour 11:30 until 12:30 in church, with interment following at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
