Barbara C. Irvine

Barbara Jane (Clasen) Irvine, 77, of Allentown died at her home February 19. Born in Utica, NY, she was the daughter of Arlene and Norman Clasen and wife of the late Gordon Irvine.

A former math teacher at Allen High School and South Mountain Middle School, she served as Allentown Councilwoman and City Council President for eight years and was also Allentown City Treasurer. She was a fond member of Christ Lutheran Church in Allentown.

Survivors: son James, his wife Stacey, and grandsons Andrew and Jacob of NJ; and son David, his wife Wendy and grandson Nicholas of NJ. She was predeceased by her son Jonathan Irvine and brother David Clasen.

Services: visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25, 1:00 p.m. at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton St., Allentown, with memorial service at 2:00.
