Basilio Bonilla-Garcia

Basilio B. Garcia, 83, of Bethlehem, died Mar. 6 in his home.  Born to the late Pedro Bonilla and Matilde Garcia, Basilio was a retired maintenance supervisor for the Bethlehem Housing Authority.  Mr. Garcia came from Caguas, Puerto Rico 54 years ago with his wife Carmen L. Bonilla and 7 children.  He was always a good husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and provider to the home.  He was well loved and respected by his family and friends.  In his leisure time, Mr. Garcia enjoyed dancing and family gatherings and was an excellent handyman around the house.

Survivors:  His loving wife Carmen Lydia; sons Basilio Bonilla Jr., Basilio A. Bonilla and Jose A. Bonilla, all from Bethlehem; daughters Carmen J. Bonilla of Allentown, Maria Bonilla , Gloria M. Bonilla, Luz S. (Bonilla) Torres, all of Allentown, and Maria M. (Bonilla) Guzman of Bethlehem; brothers Nicholas of Allentown and Pablo of Emmaus; 17 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by two great grandchildren, Joshua and Raymond.

Services:  Funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Mar. 11, Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 336 N. 4th Street, Allentown.  Viewing will be held 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton Street, Allentown.  Committal service at Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Allentown.
