Donato M. Giaquinto
03/28/2022

Monday, March 28, 2022 at 78 years of age, Donato M. Giaquinto passed away peacefully at LVHN-Cedar Crest from complications of lung disease. Born in Bethlehem on February 24, 1944 he was the son of Michael E. Giaquinto and Rose Angelini Giaquinto. He spent 53 years in the financial industry, retiring from Smith Barney in 2006 and continued as an independent broker until his death. Being very proud of his Italian heritage he was so grateful to have grown up in Roseto, PA surrounded by relatives and friends that lasted a lifetime. He graduated from Pius X high school and continued his education at Albright College and then to Farleigh Dickenson to earn a MBA.

Donato was a boater on the Hudson and Shrewsbury Rivers for over 25 years. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed gardening, especially his window boxes around his city home. A big irritation of his was when a passerby would compliment his wife’s lovely flowers, his response was always, “they’re my flowers!” Running, swimming and working out continued through his life until his illness. He was a member of Lehigh Valley Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Joan (Schoenek), children Jason, James (Jody), Adam (Nikki), step children, Tad (Kim) Jones, Tara (Michael) Leonard, and Timothy (Brie) Jones. He had 9 grandchildren, Grace, Lauren, Andrew, Carter, Kelsey, Kaila, TJ, Ophelia and Daphne, sibling Rochelle (Peter) Hino; nieces, Roxanne and Kimberly, and dear friends, the Phillip Hansell family.

Contributions to Animal Health and Welfare, Island Park Road, Williams Township would be a way to honor his memory.

Visiting hours Friday, April 8th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral will be held Saturday April 9th at 11:00 a.m. with another visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton, St, Allentown, PA 18102. Interment at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Roseto.
