Sapfo Sarantidis

Sapfo Sarantidis, age 88, passed away July 11th at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown. Born in Filia, Mytilini, Greece, she was a daughter of the late Georgios and Christina (Piti) Koutsavlis. After marrying in Greece in 1954, she came to America with her husband Panagiotis and their three daughters in 1973. She began working at Phoenix Clothes in 1973 then worked as a seamstress for various garment companies. She was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem and the Ladies Philoptochos Society.

She is survived by her daughters Dorothea Kotsakis and husband Spiros, Paraskevi Teloniatis and husband Christos, Christina Papaioannou and husband Takis; her brother Nikos Koutsavli; sister Maritsa Teloniati; sister in law Praxo Marmaros; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and brothers Sarantos and Kostas Koutsavli.

Services: viewing will be Friday, July 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1607 W. Union Blvd., Bethlehem. Funeral service at 12:00 noon, interment following at Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
