Nancy Long, 75 of Allentown passed away January 23rd at the Fellowship Community after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was the wife of Craig Long for 53 years. Born in Fountain Hill in 1947, she was the daughter of the late John and Bernetta Scholl. She was a 1965 graduate of Hellertown High School and a 1969 graduate of Kutztown University.

Nancy worked as an elementary school teacher for many years in the East Penn School District and later worked at Muhlenberg College, where she ultimately retired. Throughout her lifetime her spirit of generosity and kindness guided her through her volunteer work. She was active with the congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Allentown and later at Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she also contributed her musical talents to the church choir. While her children were enrolled in William Allen High School, she was an active member of the William Allen Instrumental Music Club.

Nancy is survived by her husband Craig; daughter Tricia McKeon and husband Ryan and their children Opal and Hadleigh, of Meriden, NH; son Collin Long and wife Coursey, of Washington, D.C.; and brother Dennis of Hellertown, and extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 18th at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 802 N. 19th Street, Allentown. Calling hour begins at 9:00.
