Ioannis M. Giannaris

Ioannis M. Giannaris, 76, of Emmaus, PA., passed peacefully August 8,  2023 at his home surrounded by his loving wife, daughters, grandchildren and extended family and friends. He was the husband of MaryAnn (Sentman) Giannaris of Emmaus, PA. They had just recently celebrated their anniversary in May. Born in Kambos Amaliada Greece, a place that was near and dear to his heart. He was the son of the late Mihael Giannaris and Vasiliki (Spilliopoulou) Giannaris. Ioannis owned and operated the “Pennsburg Diner” for 29 years. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

Ioannis loved his homeland, especially his village and place that was near and dear to his heart. Above all, he loved his family. Surviving along with his wife and 3 daughters, Bessie Kataxakis and husband Agapitos Kataxakis, Penny Giannaris and husband Fotios Pitsokos, and Georgia Frangis and husband George Frangis and grandchildren Ioannis and Angelos Kataxakis, Panagiotis and Angelos Pitsokos, and Emmanuel and Angelica Frangis with extended family in Greece. He was preceded in death by his sister.  

His viewing will be held from 10-11am Monday, August 14th, 2023 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1607 W Union Blvd, Bethlehem, PA. 18018. Funeral service at 11am at the church. Interment to follow at Calvary cemetery in Emmaus. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice, 2024 Lehigh Street, Suite 100, Allentown, PA 18103. Nicos C.
