John Buniak

John Buniak, 81, of Macungie, PA passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. John and his wife Anastacia celebrated 50 years marriage in February.

He was born in Germany on February 8th, 1942, the son of Katarina (Kurpita) and Wasil Buniak. John used his gifts to serve God and others. He was devoted to his Christian faith and enjoyed sharing the gospel to all. He spoke fluent English, Portuguese, and Ukrainian. He loved music, singing and he played various instruments, including the accordion, mandolin, and violin. In his career, he was a toolmaker/machinist retired in 2007. He was a fix-anything person and was always willing to help those around him. Additionally, he took pride in his service as a U.S. Army veteran, bravely serving in the Vietnam War (1964-1970).

Surviving beside his wife are his daughters Michelle and husband Jason Applegate, Miriam and husband Ray Bridgeman, Elizabeth Kerkusz and husband Nathan Roman, and son James Brescia Buniak and wife Amanda; sisters Helen and husband Louis Skocek, Steffi Weryzynski with husband Larry, and brother Raymond Buniak, along with 15 grandchildren and three great grandsons.

He was predeceased in death by his parents; infant brother Gregory and son-in-law Christopher Kerkusz.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, starting at 6 pm, followed by a service at 7:30 pm at the Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, 1227 W. Hamilton St, Allentown, PA 18102.  A private viewing and burial for the family will be held on Saturday, November 11th.
