Michael “Mike” Davis, 80, of Allentown passed away June 30th at Moravian Hall Square, Nazareth. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Fred Davis Sr. and Genevieve (Noti) Davis. He was a 1963 graduate of Dieruff High School, and the Fork Union Military Academy in 1964, serving in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Southern Illinois University and began teaching at Allen High School, where he was a wrestling, girls track and cross-country coach, as well as a wrestling coach for Central Catholic High School. He achieved a Masters degree from Penn State University and later taught at South Mountain Middle School. He married Bonita Martin from Allentown in 1980. As a business owner, he opened Saluki Garden Center in 1980, then Mike Davis Auto Sales in Catasauqua in 1983, moving to Whitehall in 1995. He retired in 2009.
He is survived by his sons Michael and his wife Brittany of North Carolina, Marc of Orlando Florida and Sean McClafferty of Washington, D.C.; a brother Fred Jr. and wife Nadia and their children Anthony and Julie; sister Tina and husband James Alotta and their son James Jr; grandchildren Finnegan and Penelope along with extended family.
Services: viewing Monday, July 6th starting at 9:00 a.m. at St. George Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasauqua Ave., Allentown. Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at Laurel Cemetery, Fullerton. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
