Dominic Joseph Brignola Jr.
January 30, 1947 - August 14, 2026
Dominic Joseph Brignola Jr., 79, of Easton, Pennsylvania, passed away on the morning of August 14, 2026.
Born January 30, 1947, Dominic was the son of the late Dominic Brignola Sr. and Phyllis Melchiorre Brignola.
He grew up in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, alongside his brothers Louis, Kenneth and Gary.
During the Vietnam era, Dominic was drafted into the United States Army and went on to enlist for a three-year term.
He served from 1966 to 1969, including a year overseas, and attained the rank of Specialist Five (SP5/E-5).
His military occupational specialty was Interrogator.
For his honorable service, Dominic received the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense
Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal and qualified as an Expert Rifleman with the
M-14.
Not long after returning home from Vietnam, Dominic met the woman with whom he would spend the next 57 years.
Dominic and Karen first crossed paths at the wedding of mutual friends. Before they had even met, Karen spotted the
young man who had recently returned from Vietnam, turned to her friends and said: "See that guy there? I'm going to
marry him one day."
She was right.
Dominic and Karen shared 57 years of marriage, raising their family and building a lifetime of memories together.
They enjoyed trips to the casino, family vacations to the shore and, before Karen became ill with cancer, taking cruises
together.
Dominic was a man of quiet faith and a longtime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton, where
he also served for a time as a Eucharistic Minister.
Dominic devoted his professional life to workplace safety, loss prevention and risk management. He became an
Accredited Safety Auditor and eventually the owner and President of Global Loss Control Associates, Inc. His career
allowed him to travel extensively and use his knowledge and experience to help make workplaces safer.
But Dominic's career was only one part of the man his family knew.
He was loving, caring and reserved, with a quiet strength and a warm, slightly crooked smile that was unmistakably
his. Usually the serious one in the room, his occasional laugh and that familiar smile made those moments all the more
special.
Dominic was soft-spoken but firm when he needed to be. When his children came to him for advice, Dad rarely gave a
long speech. His advice was usually short, specific and to the point.
He loved settling into his favorite recliner to watch Penn State football, the Philadelphia Phillies and golf. He enjoyed
the music of Frank Sinatra and especially loved listening to Andrea Bocelli, particularly when his granddaughter Sofia
was young.
Dominic loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, nature and photography and often had his camera
nearby to capture birds, wildlife and family.
When his children were young, family trips to Canada to fish and camp were a special tradition. Those adventures -
days on the water, nights camping and simply being together in nature - became treasured memories his family will
always carry with them.
He also loved family trips to the shore and, above all, spending time with his granddaughters.
Family traditions mattered deeply to Dominic. He especially looked forward to Christmas Eve dinner at his brother
Gary's home, where his brothers and their families gathered together each year.
Dominic is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Karen Brignola; his children, Dominic "Nick" Brignola III and
his wife Brianne, Benjamin Brignola, and Jessica Brignola, widow of the late Eric Duborg; and his five cherished
granddaughters, Sofia Brignola, Siena Brignola, Elena Hale, Blaklee Duborg and Hope Duborg.
He is also survived by his brothers, Kenneth Brignola and Gary Brignola; his sister-in-law Marlene Brignola, wife of
his late brother Louis; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic Brignola Sr. and Phyllis Melchiorre Brignola; his brother, Louis
Brignola; and his son-in-law, Eric Duborg.
A Memorial Prayer Service celebrating Dominic's life will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Easton,
Pennsylvania, with Father Mark Searls officiating. Service details will be announced.
Following the church service, Dominic's cremated remains will be taken to Northampton Memorial Shrine, where he
will receive United States Army military funeral honors before being laid to rest in the family's columbarium.
His family will remember his quiet strength, his devotion to those he loved, the advice he gave, the adventures they
shared, his camera close at hand, the music he enjoyed, his occasional laugh - and that warm, crooked smile.
It was uniquely Dad. And it will never be forgotten.
