Marly Puglia Tiemann
08/28/2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marly Puglia Tiemann, 83, of Bethlehem. In the care of our Heavenly Father and surrounded by her loving husband, Son and Daughter, Marly peacefully entered eternal rest on August 28th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg.
She was the devoted wife of David C. Tiemann for more than 55 years. Born March 25, 1943, in Curitiba, Brazil, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Natalia (Vernizi) Puglia. Marly worked for several years as a custodian at Moravian Academy.
She loved the quiet, everyday joys of life: taking care of her home, crocheting, tending her backyard garden and harvesting its fruits and vegetables, and cooking Sunday meals that brought everyone to the table. More than anything, she looked forward to time spent with family and the people she loved.
Marly was a lifelong Christian and a devout Roman Catholic. She found deep joy in her parish community and embraced and lived her Christian faith throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, David; their children, son John Tiemann (Richard) of Delaware and daughter Dilce Geuss of Bethlehem; a brother, Adimir Puglia; a sister, Marize Baranoski; three beloved grandchildren, Cynthia, Tyler, and Alec; and many extended family members.
She was predeceased by her infant son, Marcelo, who passed away at birth, and her brother Renato Puglia.
Services are private, a celebration of life will be held by the Family at a later date. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown
