Renee Heflin
04/07/2014

Renee Heflin, 79, died Monday at her home in Allentown.  Born in Brooklyn, she was a daughter of the late Sol and Jeanne (Levenberg) Goorland.

A woman of great passion and bravery, Renee always stood for something.  She was never afraid to voice her opinion and never sat on the sidelines when she had a chance to affect the world, or even just one person.  If she could teach you something, she was satisfied or at least satisfied that she had the chance.  Her intellect surpassed most people she has known with a considerable love for logic, the sciences, and a good book.

Renee Heflin was not perfect, but she was honest and fair.  She treated all people the same and she never condoned prejudice.  She was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Survivors:  son Dan; daughters Debi, Jodi, and Dena; sisters Frances and Linda; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and her faithful companion Bosco.

Services:  Her wishes were to assist scientific research by becoming a whole body donor.  Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
