Mikhail Awad

Mikhail Awad (Nakhle), 66, of Allentown, was peacefully embraced by our Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Zwaitiny, Syria, he was a son of the late Ibrahim and Adla (Allan) Awad. Mikhail was a devoted husband to his loving wife Samira (Khallouf) Awad. He tought students, was a school principal, built homes, and loved gardening. He will truly be missed by those he tought and touched.

Survivors: wife Samira; sons Burhan (Abe) Awad of Philadelphia, Michel (Mesho) Awad of Allentown; daughter Mary and husband John Hard and their daughter Hailey Hard of Palmerton; brothers Elias, Marwan, Ghassan, Mahmoud, Harb, and Yahya; sisters Georgette, Elenne, Jaklin, and Houda.

Services: viewing from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday (tomorrow) at St. George Orthodox Church, 1011 Catasauqua Ave., Allentown with funeral service at 11:00. Interment following in Laurel Cemetery. Arrangements by Nicos C. Elias Funeral Home, Allentown.
